Augustine was a blogger

I’ve been dipping in and out of Augustine’s City of God in the last few days… what a fascinating book!  It strikes me that, in the way it is written – compiled over a lengthy time, fragments, short discourses on topics taking up contemporary issues in discussion with theological explanation, often linking different sections together – it is written something like a blog.  I wonder if his manuscripts allowed for comments?
